El Norteno

I mean come on who doesn’t like authentic Mexican food?  If you are feeling a snack, lunch, or dinner El Norteno has you covered.  The atmosphere and service is very friendly, and you can tell that the owner really cares about her roots.  Everything is Mexican themed, which makes sense since they are obviously a Mexican restaurant (haha).  Their menu consists of burritos, tacos, fajitas, nachos, the lineup you would expect.  I highly recommend their chicken, steak, and shrimp fajitas.  I like to create my own wrap by combining the meat with rice, beans, salsa, and guacamole.  If I am in the mood to go for a long run to burn off the calories I might dabble with some Sour Cream as well.  I have been to El Norteno at least a dozen times throughout my time in Bloomington over the past few years.  Not once have I run into bad service, and most importantly the food is consistently great.  This is much more of a sitdown and relaxed type of setting, in contrast to a Chipotle or Qdoba.  If you have the time and are willing to shell out a few extra dollars, then I would definitely check out El Norteno.
