Panera Bread

The perfect meal for Sunday lunch, a late lunch, around 3:00 or 4:00pm after you’ve been studying all day and don’t want something too heavy.  For under $7 you can get a half and half meal (half sandwich/half soup/half salad) that comes with your choice of side (apple, chips, or baguette).  I highly recommend getting soup in a bread bowl, especially in the warmer months, or at least ordering a side baguette to accompany your meal and to dip into your soup.  Panera has some great seasons soups and year round choices as well.  Winter promises a creamy tomato soup with asiago croutons and a creamy chicken and rice, while spring and summer brings a vegetable medley and a corn chowder.  Recently they have also added a wide selection of paninis (grilled sandwiches) to their vast menu.  Enjoy this quaint meal with a friend, a book, or your laptop with free Wi-Fi access and make sure to visit the bakery on your way out for a bear claw or some cookies.  Also visit in the AM to score some fresh bagels, chocolate chip being my personal favorite morning indulgence.  Even their emblem mascot cradles the precious bread and seems to gently whisper “Mmm…Panera.”
