Brothers Bar and Grill

by BtownMenus on November 21, 2010

Making the debut for bars on biteintobtown, Brothers Bar and Grill has some of the best drink specials in town!  My buddies and I heard about Taco Tuesday, so we decided to give it a shot.  I am glad that we decided to switch up the rotation a bit, or else we would have never discovered our new Tuesday nightspot.  Who can say no to $1 tacos and $2 for anything that pours?  I don’t know anywhere else in Bloomington where you can eat a full meal and get your drink on for under $10!

The menu itself was limited in terms of food; if you are on a health kick as of late, stay clear of Brothers.  I’m usually a relatively healthy eater, but on this night it was a whole different story.  One of my friends is a mushroom fanatic, and when he saw beer battered mushrooms on the menu he couldn’t resist.  We all split the beer battered mushrooms, bbq chicken quesadilla, and then each got a couple tacos.  The beer battered mushrooms are dipped in beer batter and fried until golden brown, and is served with house made horseradish-mustard sauce.  I am glad that I wasn’t the only one who ordered this because it is way too addicting!  The BBQ Chicken Quesadilla is loaded with BBQ chicken; melted cheddar and pepper jack cheese and served with homemade salsa.  Both appetizers were excellent and left little belly room for the tacos.

As usual my eyes were bigger then my stomach, and for some idiotic reason I ordered 3 tacos.  I barely was able to finish 2, but they were really good.  Your usual taco shell with sloppy joe, cheese, lettuce, salsa, and guacamole, Taco Bell is right across the street, but Brothers hard tacos are much better quality, and who can say no to a $1 taco?  Combined with the $2 for anything that pours, we all had a satisfying and cheap meal.  Walking out with a nice buzz and having gained at least 5 pounds after all that consumption of food and beer, Brothers was a wise choice on a random Tuesday in the middle of November.
