The name itself sounds refreshing.   Bloomingfoods is your one stop shop for anything healthy.  A combination of a grocery store and cafeteria, you can kill two birds with one stone by eating a meal and then getting your groceries or vice versa.  What’s great about Bloomingfoods is that everything is completely fresh, and homemade.   The biggest problem that I have with the place is that there are so many options!  Do you want salad?  They have a salad bar?  A home cooked meal?  There is a hot bar!  I usually go the sandwich route, and am a huge fan of the jalapeno turkey club melt.  Turkey, cheese, jalapenos, avocado, topped off with rye bread and a side of carrots can never do you wrong.

Next to the salad bar there are premade sandwiches, sushi, grape leaves, tuna salad, egg salad, egg sandwiches, basically almost anything you can think of.  If you have a craving, most likely it can be fulfilled at Bloomingfoods.  Not every single item is healthy as they have chocolate chip cookies and ice cream for those with a sweet tooth.   I wouldn’t recommend doing consistent shopping here as it will definitely burn a hole in your wallet.  Getting a meal is very reasonable especially if you take advantage of the hot bar.  A hot, fresh, and what is as close to a home cooked meal as you can get, dinner will run you at most $10.   Stay away from buying necessities here, because you can go to Kroger and get milk and eggs for half the price.

Bloomingfoods has been a community owned business for 34 years.  The primary goal that they live by is having a local focus on having great food that couldn’t be found anywhere else.     If you want good food, great customer service, and a clean bill of health, checks out Bloomingfoods!
